2024 Gardening Trends from Leslie Halleck

Jennifer Polanz

Leslie Halleck has been a professional in the green industry for more than 30 years, working in research and trials, in landscaping, as a garden center consultant and in business development. So when she talks trends, it’s time to listen.

Leslie published the concepts she sees trending for this year on her website, including incorporating edibles into landscapes and pots, along with ornamentals (what she playfully calls “ornamedible gardening”), no-mow and eco-lawn trends that’ll continue this year, edited houseplants collections, blooming indoor plants, tiny plants, and foliage and florals that play off this year’s Pantone Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz, among others.

Read her full take on trends, and why retailers should pay attention and perhaps set their own trends. GP
